Rocksteady is known for the best Batman games ever: The Arkham Trilogy. Rocksteady set a name high in the sky with these games. Gamers waited years for another Rocksteady game. There were rumors of trying to make the impossible Superman game. There were rumors of other possible games. Then, after a some rumors and a bit of news, Rocksteady came out in full force via Warner Bros. Discovery with a….Suicide Squad game.
What was weird is that Suicide Squad is well…not…that popular. After two movies that were just…okay, no one really wanted a Suicide Squad game. Rocksteady and Warner Bros. Discovery released the trailer and gamers were not only dissatisfied with the look and feel of the game, but also the functioning of the game. There was a required internet connection that pissed people off. After such disappointment, Rocksteady tried to fix things but it never really helped.
The game looked and felt like Warner Bros. Discovery was sitting over Rocksteady’s shoulder telling them what to do and how to do it. There was even mentioning of another game Rocksteady was working on before committing to the horrible Suicide Squad. You could help but see and smell their parent corporation’s hands all over the finished product; an act of disturbing violation.
Maybe if Rocksteady was allowed to just do what they do, the Suicide Squad game would have been totally different; maybe we would have gotten the impossible Superman instead. From a highly successful Batman trilogy to a horrible game involving half-baked heroes, it appears that Rocksteady was infiltrated by a villain of their own. Hopefully, Warner Bros. can learn from their recent financial hit, and leave Rocksteady to be Rocksteady.
