Nintendo is known to put innovation before graphic power. After the Gamecube launched, Nintendo came back swinging for the fences with the Wii. Grown fat off all the cash they made, Nintendo lazily designed the Wii U. The Wii U was not that great of a product mover, and gamers began to wonder if Nintendo was back to its Gamecube days again.Â
Then Nintendo reinvented the idea of gaming by creating the first portable game console: the Switch. Even the name properly explains what it does successfully. Gamers were able to connect to a TV and take it with them. Gamers could even sync with other gamers and play together.Â
What was cool were how the controls slid off to be the controllers. Nintendo even released old-school console controllers to use. The Switch was a massive hit, similar to the Wii.Â
Now it’s time for another new console, and Nintendo has decided to create a Switch 2. According to rumors, it is looking like Nintendo is repeating history. The Switch does not appear to have much of a change. The design looks the same. Maybe Nintendo has decided to update the power of the Switch instead of going back to the drawing board and recreate something new.
With Sony currently developing a portable gaming device again along with the PS6, it appears that Sony could possibly be taking cues from Nintendo and creating their invention of the Switch.Â
A release window for the Switch is supposedly dated for March or April of 2025. With 2025 around the corner, it won’t be long until we hear something officially from Nintendo.
Hopefully Nintendo will surprise gamers with some innovative features.
