Playstation is the top console each generation, yet each generation, it gets further and further into PC territory. Not only are its exclusive games becoming more available for PC gamers, but even their VR device will be available for PC owners. PS controllers are available to use with PCs for those console-turned-PC gamers. PCs are famous for their mods. Mods bring a whole extra world to a game. Mods are not available at this time for consoles 🙁
Xbox, although owned by Microsoft (a PC company), is evolving more towards cloud gaming and becoming a company similar to SEGA, where, their games are available on other platforms. Nintendo seems to be the only console wanting to keep to itself.
Consoles are a computers, but are more so…limited. You can’t change the hardware like you can with a PC. So, each generation becomes more powerful. But what if a console was a PC? Not only could you get mods, but you could change the hardware. If that was to happen, there would be no more console.
The latest God of War game requires a powerful gaming PC. This shows that not all gaming PCs are equal and that a PS5 can be more powerful than some gaming PCs, which could pose a problem if consoles were to go fully extinct. Or maybe a console turned PC would start at a more powerful level. Another way would possibly be the mythic Cloud based system, where all games are via the internet. This would involve the gamer to have their own PC and one powerful enough…and fast enough.
What do you think? Will consoles go the way of PC? Let us know in the comments.
